USDA Rural Development Announces 9006 Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Funding Program - Apply Now for Grants or Loan Guarantees!
9006 Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RE or EE ): Applications are invited anytime for RE or EE projects, with 2-4 funding cycles expected annually. Agricultural producers and rural small businesses may apply for 25% grant funds or a loan guarantee for up to 50% of total eligible project costs (TEPC) for the purchase of renewable energy systems and installation of energy efficiency improvements. Grant applications must demonstrate financial need based on applicant resources or the project's cash flow. A streamlined application process for TEPC less than $200,000 with reduced technical requirements and no business level feasibility study requirement. Energy audits not required for TEPC less than $50,000; although assessments are necessary to verify energy savings. EE includes reduction in energy consumed per s.f. so expansion projects may be eligible. Applications for loan guarantees may include capital improvements to an existing RE system and land acquisition costs. All locations in VT are eligible, some locations in Southern NH may be ineligible. Scoring incentives for Small and Very Small Ag Producers, as well as Very Small Businesses.
